Spiritual Trips

Yatras to the Holy Dhams

Dham means a place where Krishna lives. A place of residence of the Lord. Wherever the Lord lives, that place is Dham.

Although the Param Dham of the Lord is Golok Vrindavan Dham in Vaikuntha, in this material world also Krishna has many places where He lives eternally.

Why visit the Dham with pure devotees and guru?

tīrthī-kurvanti tīrthāni

Since Lord Krishna resides in pure devotees’ hearts, a place of pilgrimage becomes spiritually sanctified, and their association purifies the place of pilgrimage.

Srimad Bhagavatam 1.13.10

In the company of pure devotees

In a Dham any sinful act gets multiplied many times, so in Kali-yuga one should go to a place of pilgrimage in the company of pure devotees. Every moment spent in these places of Dham is justified only if one goes with pure devotees.

Srimad Bhagavatam 3.20.3

The purpose of pilgrimage

The purpose behind visiting a place of pilgrimage is to associate with pure devotees, to associate with pure Vaishnavas.
